This policy explains when you can cancel an order and what is refundable. It applies to fees paid to Business Formation Australia (ABN 66 289 309 387) for our registration services, and forms part of, and should be read with, our Terms of Service.

It helps to understand that your order can include two kinds of cost:

2. Cancelling Before We Lodge

You can ask to cancel any time before we lodge your application with the relevant government body:

4. If Your Application Is Rejected or Delayed

Government bodies assess applications against their own legal requirements and may reject one — for example, where a business or company name is unavailable, too similar to an existing name, or does not meet eligibility rules. If this happens:

Processing times we quote are estimates only. We do not provide refunds for delays that are caused by a government body, by identity or document verification, or by information being incomplete or supplied late.

5. Free Registrations

Some registrations (such as GST and PAYG withholding, and an ABN included with a company registration) are provided at no additional charge. As no fee is charged for these, there is nothing to refund if they are cancelled.

6. Changing Your Order

If you selected the wrong service or need to change details, contact us as soon as possible. Before lodgement we can usually update your order or cancel it under section 2. After lodgement, changes may require a new application and new government fees.

7. Duplicate or Incorrect Charges

If you are charged more than once for the same order, or charged in error, we will refund the duplicate or incorrect amount in full.

8. Your Rights Under the Australian Consumer Law

Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). If a service is not supplied with due care and skill, or is not fit for the purpose we represented, you may be entitled to a remedy. Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the ACL or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. How Refunds Are Processed

Approved refunds are paid to the original payment method through our payment provider. Refunds are typically processed within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer.
